Invite you to Celebrate 100 Years of Wimbledon Labour Party

At 6.00pm, Friday 6 April 2018

Outside St Andrews Church Hall, Herbert Road, Wimbledon, London SW19 3SH

On 6 April 1918, at St Andrew’s Church Hall, a meeting was convened by the Wimbledon District Trades and Labour Council which set up the Wimbledon, Merton and Morden Labour Party.

On 6 April 2018, Wimbledon Labour Party will meet there and then march behind the Wimbledon Labour Party banner to William Morris House, which was opened for Labour Party and Trade Union meetings, four years later on 30 September 1922 by the Rt Hon Arthur Henderson MP.

At William Morris House we will have a short illustrated talk on the early history and origins of Wimbledon Labour Party followed by a short speech from our Prospective Parliamentary Candidate, Jackie Schneider.

This will be followed by a social and drinks reception to celebrate our Centenary, sponsored by William Morris House.

There will be soft drinks, nibbles, wine & beer and hopefully great company! We are really hoping it will be a fun occasion and a window to relax during our Council campaigning.

Each person attending will also receive also receive a complimentary copy of our illustrated centenary booklet describing the early history of Wimbledon Labour Party.

There’s no charge to attend & we’d love this to be as well attended as possible, so please bring your children and friends!
