Councillors at a pop-up tip

Residents in the Wandle, Haydons Road, and Colliers Wood areas – get ready to declutter! Merton Council’s popular pop-up tip is coming to your neighbourhood this Sunday, 7 September, from 10am to 2pm, at Chaucer Way, SW19 1UH, right next to Wandle Meadow Nature Park.

As part of Labour-run Merton Council’s expanded pop-up tip programme, every part of the borough now gets four visits a year, making it easier than ever for residents to get rid of bulky waste legally and conveniently—while helping fight back against fly tipping and illegal dumping.

✅ What You Can Bring:

  • Recycling: Paper, card, drinks cans, glass, soft plastics

  • Small electronics: Hairdryers, toasters, household batteries

  • Bulky items: Furniture and white goods

❌ What You Can’t Bring:

  • Hazardous waste: Tyres, paint, needles, gas bottles, asbestos

  • Trade/commercial waste: Building materials, waste oil

  • Textiles

  • General household rubbish (e.g. black bags or garden waste)

🔍 Proof of Address Required

This service is for Merton residents only. Please bring ID such as a driving licence, Council Tax bill, or utility bill to access the site.

Don’t miss this chance to responsibly dispose of waste and keep your local area clean!
