Join Wimbledon Labour with special guest Baroness Shami Chakrabarti for delicious Levantine cuisine at Mora Meza Restaurant and Bar to raise funds for our General Election campaign.
Hosted by Labour’s candidate to be the next MP in Wimbledon, Jackie Schneider, guests will be served a range of mezze followed by a main course, with a speech from Baroness Shami Chakrabarti, Shadow Attorney General and member of the House of Lords. Guest will also have the opportunity meet and ask Baroness Chakrabarti questions after her talk.
Baroness Chakrabarti was Director of Liberty, the National Council for Civil Liberties from 2003 to 2016, and a member of the panel of the Leveson Inquiry, the judicial inquiry into UK phone hacking in 2011. She also holds a number of honorary professorships and fellowships, and has been Chancellor of Oxford Brookes University followed by the University of Essex. We look forward to welcoming her to Wimbledon, and hearing from her wealth of experience fighting for social justice.
There will also be the chance to win some exciting limited edition treats and prizes from local restaurants, the Houses of Parliament, and the Labour Party.
