The local elections are about who runs your Council – who collects your bins, looks after the parks, and fixes the roads. Labour currently runs the Council and are the only party locally who has a clear plan to make Merton cleaner, greener, and safer for everyone, whilst keeping bills low.

MAKE MERTON MORE AFFORDABLE
We promise to make Merton more affordable by keeping your Council Tax lower than any neighbouring Liberal Democrat Council and continue to provide value-for-money services.

KEEP MERTON CLEAN
We promise to keep Merton clean by introducing a new FREE bulky waste collection service to make it even easier for you to get rid of unwanted items. And we will keep the new graffiti removal services and Pop-up Tips four times a year near you.

We promise to keep Merton safe by increasing the number of Safer Streets Officers patrolling every neighbourhood, every week, including on evenings and weekends. We will also invest in more CCTV cameras to catch and prosecute criminals.

We promise to make Merton greener and more welcoming by upgrading children’s playgrounds and sporting facilities in parks and working with local people to create new pocket parks to brighten up our neighbourhoods and enhance biodiversity.
