Thanks to Labour-run Merton Council, Big Screens are back for summer 2026.
Residents can head to Wandle Park, Mitcham Fair Green, or Mostyn Gardens throughout July and August to catch exciting sports fixtures, from the F1, Commonwealth Games, Cricket and more!
Throughout July residents from across Merton came together to get involved in the Tennis action, with big screens showing the Wimbledon Championships in Wandle Park and Canons House.
These Big Screens have been a fantastic way to bring neighbours together, and continue to be a chance for everyone to get involved with the sporting action this summer, no matter their background or ability, completely free of charge.
Caroline Cooper Marbiah, Cabinet Member for Sports and Heritage said:
“We know how much residents loved our free big screens last year, which is why I am so excited that we have been able to bring them back for summer 2026! Breaking down barriers to sport is a key part of our Borough of Sport ambition, and by putting on these big screens for the whole community to enjoy, we are doing just that.”
More sports events, from the British Open, to the Tour De France will be on show throughout the rest of July and beginning of August.
